NCSoft selling Kinah?

This is a serious allegation, so we will check it out thoroughly. But, it’s not the first time we’ve heard it. Apparently, people are saying that there is a direct link between the gold sellers and NCSoft. Given the attitude NCSoft has taken with Aion, all but abandoning a AAA release title and leaving all decisions up to folks in Korea, this could be possible. It does make sense, as Drake below puts it, that NCSoft does go out of their way to keep you from making money and then blames it on the gold sellers. Think about it. You can’t mail items, you can’t sell on the broker, you can’t put things in bag space due to the ridiculous amount of items that drop, etc. It’s like they are choking you, and to what end? At first I thought they were just punshing players for the actions of the gold sellers due to horrible mismanagement, however, he may be on to something. It might just be a conspiracy theory, but we will check it out.

I spoke with a GM recently and they acted almost hostile when I demanded they did something about it (bots and gold selling). Which made me do some research on some of the websites spammed to me 1000 times a day. Turns out a lot of them are actually linked to NCsoft. Do the research yourself its easy to do and its right there. I was boggled how when I first logged on during headstart that I got a spam offering 1million kinah. I was like how? Well there’s the answer it all clicks now. If you play this game you will realize it strives to make you broke. Soul healers, limited auction house slots, limited private store slots. They want to make it very hard for you to make money. And I cannot stomach this back door money making scam crap. If you played WoW you understand the frustration of gold spammers. Well gratz guys we just signed up to play a game made by them.”

That argument has been made for every game at one point or another. The simple fact that there are the free to play games with cash stores that are successful pretty much kills the idea that any gaming company would go through such unreliable sources to gain revenue.

Interesting article here as well, it appears that NCSoft is bringing Scott Jennings back in to help with the issues of RTM http://www.mmorpg.com/showFeature.cfm/loadFeature/3740/Real-Money-Real-Problems.html
